Storm Proxies Residential Proxy Review

logo Hidemyacc circle

StormProxies is a relatively new proxy provider that has only been around since 2016, yet it remains one of the most popular ones in the market. If you are looking for reliable and affordable private proxies, Storm Proxies is a serious option. Its proxies are quite fast as per residential proxies, and they are incredibly cheap so Storm Proxies is very suitable for small-scale businesses/works.

Storm Proxies only have 200,000 proxies available and this number is no match compared to other top providers. The positive thing about Storm Proxies is it does have worthwhile products to offer, including rotating dedicated and residential HTTP/HTTPS proxies, and dedicated proxies targeted at social media, tickets, sneakers, and other sites. Its proxies are effective and functional well for web scraping tasks. However, they are quite limited in their area coverage, geo-targeting options, and authentication method, among others.

Storm Proxies review | TechRadar

Storm Proxies private dedicated proxies limit accounts on the number of IPs. All of these plans can run 100 concurrent threads.

Proxy Type Pricing Basis Starting Price Key Limitation
Private Dedicated Per IP count $10 / month (5 IPs) Max 100 concurrent threads
Backconnect Rotating Simultaneous connections $39 / month (40 connections) Fixed access IP bounds
Rotating Residential Per Port count $50 / month (5 ports) Max 50 connections per port

Note: In this article, we focus exclusively on reviewing StormProxies Backconnect Rotating Proxies performance. Our dedicated proxy testing will be covered in a separate post.

StormProxies Performance

StormProxies’s scraping ability varies from website to website. It is exceptional for some websites, and for some other websites, users will experience many connection errors.

From over 1.4 million requests we made, only 71.6% managed to reach the target – significantly fewer than the market average. This is because some of these websites use anti-spam systems and captchas that StormProxies can’t bypass. The connection errors are reduced when we apply the captchas solver.

So what about speed?

  • Average Ping: 47ms
  • Average Download: 25.95 Mbps
  • Average Upload: 14.46 Mbps

Compared to datacenter proxies, residential proxies are much slower. The Average Response time of Storm Proxies's residential proxies is 2.54s. Not a top result but similar to premium providers like NetNut, GeoSurf, etc. Nevertheless, they are still incredibly fast for most use cases.

Note: We have published a blog about the Best Proxy Provider, so you can look up and decide which proxy will fit best with your work. You can also refer to other Hidemyacc’s proxy review blog posts for more recommendations.

StormProxies Pros & Cons

Pros

Inexpensive Residential Proxies

Because of the reliability and trust that residential proxies have earned, they are supposed to be expensive, and this is popularized by premium providers. However, Storm Proxies has got to be the cheapest residential proxy provider compared to others. Moreover, you will have an unlimited connection which makes them one of the best offerings in the market.

Money-back guarantee

It's always a client-friendly feature for products like these to have a money-back guarantee offer. However, you only be able to get your money back within 24 hours if you buy a Storm Proxies plan and are not satisfied.

Friendly Interface

Storm Proxies has got to be one of the providers out there following the minimalistic approach and simplicity comes with ease of usage. This minimalistic approach ensures their clients can easily set up their system, navigate it and use it effectively.

Unlimited Bandwidth

You can freely use StormProxies's proxies because its plans are only limited to the number of ports or simultaneous connections.

Specialized Plans

StormProxies has plans for specific use cases like Instagram, ticketing websites, sneaker websites, platform-specific social media.

Cons

Limit Geo-Targeting

Storm Proxies servers are located in only two locations: the United States and the European regions. And there is no city targeting option for these regions.

Small IP Pools

While enterprise competitors boast pools of over 10 million positions, StormProxies operates a much tighter network of around 200,000 global proxies, with instant residential access limited to a 40,000 IP rotating pool regardless of your plan.

No Free Trial

Storm Proxies has several limitations that they need a trial to convince intending customers but it only provides a 24hr money-back guarantee. If users are not satisfied with their services within 24 hours of purchase, they can request a refund.

Lacking customer service

While you can email their live support 24/7 and expect a reply within 24 hours, there is no live chat or any other good customer support access available aside from email. The instruction documentation is detailed – though missing configuration instructions – but most likely outdated.

Conclusion

Proxy can help you change the IP address but can not prevent websites from detecting your accounts. If you want to create a large number of accounts, you should use Hidemyacc Antidetect Browser with proxies to prevent suspension. Hidemyacc will help you hide original computer parameters and create multiple new computer parameters for each profile, supporting users to access the internet with multiple accounts without being detected.

Is Proxyium Safe? How to Access and Use It

A website you need to access is blocked. Your company network filters certain pages, your school Wi-Fi restricts access, or the content is only available in another region. You do not want to install additional software and only need to access the website temporarily. That is where a web proxy can be useful. Proxyium is one such service that works directly through a browser, but your traffic still passes through a third-party server. This raises an important question: Is Proxyium safe? This guide explains how Proxyium works, what information a proxy can potentially access, whether using Proxyium is legal, how to use it safely and which alternatives you can consider.
