Databay is a proxy provider offering four distinct tiers: Residential, Residential Flex, Mobile, and Datacenter—all billed strictly on a per-gigabyte basis with no trial options. Because each tier comes with separate pricing tiers and rotation mechanics, buyers often struggle to identify the right fit. This Databay review tests all four tiers within Hidemyacc, evaluating proxy generation, anonymity, speed, Google CAPTCHA handling, and accessibility across Amazon, Etsy, and TikTok to give you verifiable data before purchasing.
1. What is Databay?
Databay is a proxy service offering four product lines, all billed on a pay-as-you-go bandwidth model (per GB):
- Residential Proxy: ISP-like residential endpoints with granular location targeting, advertising 34M+ IPs across 200+ countries.
- Residential Flex: A budget-conscious residential IP pool with broad country- or continent-level targeting, advertising 9M+ IPs in 90+ countries.
- Mobile Proxy: Cellular IPs sourced from 4G/5G mobile carrier networks, reporting 800K+ IPs across 155+ countries.
- Datacenter Proxy: Server-based IPs hosted in data centers, advertising 80K+ IPs.
These IP pool figures are cited from Databay's product comparison overview. Note that other sections on their website report different numbers—for instance, the Residential product page states 22M+. If pool volume is a decisive factor for your operational scale, confirm these figures before committing.
Importantly, Databay explicitly notes that all four tiers operate as shared pools with connection-based rotation. Premium Residential does not offer static ISP lines, Mobile does not provide dedicated SIM cards or private physical modems, and Datacenter is not a private static proxy pool.
In practice, do not assume these product names represent dedicated static IPs assigned exclusively to you. If your workflow demands preserving a stable IP address throughout an active session, examine their session-hold mechanics carefully prior to purchasing a plan.
2. Community Feedback and User Reviews
On Trustpilot, Databay currently holds a 3.5/5 rating based on 6 user reviews. The business profile has been active since March 2023 under the Computer Security Service category. With only 6 recorded reviews, this score reflects a limited sample size and should serve as an initial benchmark rather than a definitive industry verdict.
Existing customer reviews focus primarily on connection stability and proxy setup. Several users praise the straightforward configuration and per-request rotation. Conversely, another user noted that connection speeds when routing through Brazilian IPs were somewhat sluggish.
Because third-party reviews remain sparse, Trustpilot should be treated as an auxiliary reference point in this review. Our hands-on testing regarding speed, anonymity, and multi-platform access provides more direct empirical data for evaluating each Databay proxy tier.
3. Key Features of Databay
The four proxy tiers differ in geo-targeting granularity, location options, and IP retention settings. The table below outlines the core parameters to help you evaluate each product line:
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| IP Types | Residential (Premium Residential and Residential Flex), Mobile, Datacenter; all operate as shared pools |
| IP Pool Size | Residential 34M+, Flex 9M+, Mobile 800K+, Datacenter 80K+ (per Databay comparison page) |
| Coverage | Residential 200+ countries, Flex 90+ countries, Mobile 155+ countries, Datacenter covers primary tier-1 markets |
| Geo-Targeting | Residential: country, state, city, ZIP, coordinates, ASN (select one filter per generation); Flex, Mobile, Datacenter: country or continent |
| Protocols | HTTP, HTTPS (CONNECT), SOCKS5 |
| Rotation Modes | Rotate IPs or Keep one IP. Sticky duration: Residential up to 120 mins, Flex up to 30 mins, Mobile up to 120 mins, Datacenter supports temporary sticky sessions (maximum duration unspecified by Databay) |
| Billing Model | Billed strictly per GB; no setup fees, no recurring commitments |
| Traffic Validity | Residential: 186 days (5 GB plan) or 31 days (10 GB+ plans); Flex, Mobile, Datacenter: 31 days |
| Authentication | Username and password, or IP allowlist |
| Payment Methods | Credit card (Visa, Mastercard), wire transfer, cryptocurrency. PayPal is not accepted |
| Free Trial | None available |
| Refund Policy | 7-day window for technical network faults, typically requiring total consumption under 100 MB |
| Support Channels | Email, Discord, Telegram |
| Proxy Delivery | Configure network and rotation mode on the dashboard, then copy Host, Port, Username, and Password |
The most important operational parameter to scrutinize is the IP rotation behavior. Databay allows you to choose between Rotate IP and Keep one IP, with stated sticky durations varying substantially by tier. Residential and Mobile offer up to 120 minutes of session persistence, Flex tops out at 30 minutes, and Datacenter lacks a specified maximum duration.
If your tasks consist of short, stateless requests where maintaining the same address is unnecessary, Rotate IPs performs adequately. In contrast, for workflows that require persistent account sessions or multi-step checkout funnels, review the Keep one IP parameters and sticky timeframes before buying.
Additionally, note that Databay clearly designates all four tiers as shared pools that rotate per connection. Premium Residential is not a dedicated static ISP proxy, Mobile does not map to dedicated private hardware or individual SIM cards, and Datacenter is not a private static proxy. Furthermore, while Databay classifies Datacenter as a rotating pool, parts of their comparison overview describe them as "static IPs." As such, descriptions are not entirely harmonized across their website.
4. Pricing and Payment Options
Databay lists pricing transparently on the dedicated pages for each tier, calculated per gigabyte (excluding VAT). The table below summarizes entry-level pricing across all four tiers as of September 28, 2026:
| Product Tier | Starting Price |
|---|---|
| Residential Proxy | From $2.75/GB (minimum 5 GB plan, $13.75 total), scaling down to $0.90/GB at the 1 TB tier |
| Residential Flex | $0.55/GB flat rate (minimum 25 GB plan, $13.75 total) |
| Mobile Proxy | From $3.55/GB (minimum 5 GB plan, $17.75 total), scaling down to $2.50/GB at the 512 GB tier |
| Datacenter Proxy | From $1.25/GB (minimum 10 GB plan, $12.50 total), scaling down to $0.50/GB at the 1 TB tier |
All four lines bill strictly on consumption without recurring subscriptions. Per-gigabyte rates scale down on larger volume commitments, meaning the lowest headline rates do not apply if you only need a modest amount of bandwidth.
For example, Residential is advertised starting from $0.90/GB, but this rate requires purchasing a 1 TB package. On the entry-level package, the effective price is $2.75/GB. Likewise, Datacenter's advertised $0.50/GB rate only unlocks at the 1 TB tier.
Residential Flex uses a simpler flat rate of $0.55/GB with a 25 GB minimum order, equaling $13.75. If you prefer testing with small quantities, factor in the gap between promotional entry rates and minimum order sizes.
On the Mobile tier, the pricing page displays conflicting copy: "PAYG from 1 GB" alongside package cards stating "5 GB and up from $17.75." We based our evaluation on the visible package cards, but verify minimum billing thresholds during checkout.
Databay provides no free trial. Their refund policy applies solely to verified technical network faults within 7 days, generally requiring that total bandwidth usage remain below 100 MB. Target website blocks do not qualify as technical faults. For cryptocurrency payments, refunds are issued exclusively as account store credits.
Databay accepts Visa, Mastercard, direct bank transfers, and cryptocurrency, but does not accept PayPal. Keep this in mind when selecting a payment option, particularly if you rely on PayPal for software and proxy procurement.
For this benchmark, the allocated traffic across all four tiers—Residential (7.31 GB), Residential Flex (1 GB), Mobile (1 GB), and Datacenter (9 GB)—was provided directly by Databay as review allocations rather than purchased through standard checkout. Consequently, our review focuses on connection performance and network behavior rather than payment processing workflows.
5. How to Set Up Databay Proxies in Hidemyacc
After reviewing features and pricing, we integrated Databay with the antidetect browser Hidemyacc. The setup involves generating proxy connection parameters on Databay's dashboard and importing them into your Hidemyacc browser profiles.
5.1 Generating Proxy Credentials on Databay Dashboard
Navigate to "My Proxies" in the left sidebar menu. The "Set up your connection" panel guides you through three steps:
- Choose a network: Select Residential, Residential Flex, Mobile, or Datacenter.
- Choose how the IP changes: Select Rotate IPs (default) or Keep one IP.
- Exit location (optional): Default is Any location; filter by country, region, city, continent, or postal code.
Click "Show 4 settings" to reveal advanced options: Sign-in method, Proxy login, Connection type, and Gateway region. Sign-in method allows choosing between Username & password or IP allowlist. Connection type supports HTTP or SOCKS5.
Related reading: HTTP/HTTPS Proxy vs SOCKS Proxy: Which should you use?
Our benchmark utilized Username & password authentication, HTTP connection protocol, and the Asia gateway (as-gw.databay.co), which Databay flags as Recommended.
Once configured, the dashboard displays Host, Port, Username, and Password. All four tiers share the same Host address, Port 8888, and Password string. The differentiation between tiers is governed by the zone parameter inside the Username string:
- hidemyacc-zone-residential
- hidemyacc-zone-residential_FLEX
- hidemyacc-zone-mobile
- hidemyacc-zone-datacenter
If you prefer raw proxy strings, expand the "Need a proxy list?" tab. Databay offers 8 string formats, with the default formatted as USER:PASS@HOST:PORT.
Alternatively, you can manually copy Host, Port, Username, and Password separately and input them directly into Hidemyacc's proxy fields.
5.2 Configuring Browser Profiles in Hidemyacc
All benchmark tests ran inside an identical environment on Hidemyacc version 3.1.9, using Chrome 152 on Windows 11 to maintain consistent baseline conditions.
Step 1: Launch Hidemyacc and generate a fresh profile by clicking New Profile. Assign distinct profile names matching each proxy tier for easy tracking.
Step 2: Go to the Proxy section, select Your Proxy, and set Connection type to HTTP to match your Databay dashboard parameters. Paste the corresponding Host, Port, Username, and Password generated from your dashboard.
Step 3: Click Check Proxy. Once the tool returns the detected IP and geolocation, click Create to save the configuration and launch your profile.
The Check Proxy results across our four test profiles resolved as follows: Residential received an IP in Albardón, Argentina; Residential Flex in Zolochiv, Ukraine; Mobile in Manati, Puerto Rico; and Datacenter in Kharkiv, Ukraine. All four profiles passed Check Proxy validation on the first attempt.
This confirms that communication between Databay and Hidemyacc operates cleanly across all four tiers. However, the location shown during Check Proxy only represents the IP assigned at that specific instant. Under active rotation, the geographic location updates as new addresses are cycled.
6. Real-World Performance: Testing Methodology and Results
Our benchmark evaluated four primary metrics: anonymity and data leaks, connection speed, Google Search CAPTCHA handling, and e-commerce platform accessibility.
Keep two factors in mind when reviewing these results. First, because Rotate IPs was active, addresses cycled across steps—even between consecutive speedtest runs. As a result, readings do not reflect a single continuous IP. Second, our tests did not engage Keep one IP or specific city-level targeting filters, leaving those features unevaluated.
These findings illustrate the behavior of the specific IPs provided during testing rather than representing the entire Databay pool across all regions.
6.1 Anonymity and Identity Leak Tests
Anonymity was audited using IPFighter and cross-referenced with Scamalytics. IPFighter checks browser fingerprints, geolocation, WebRTC, and target platform compatibility, while Scamalytics evaluates Fraud Scores and blacklists.
IPFighter Test Results:
| Metric | Residential | Residential Flex | Mobile | Datacenter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assigned IP | 77.231.74.199 | 205.206.61.205 | 190.97.101.141 | 136.162.247.131 |
| IPFighter Location | Zamora, Spain | Edmonton, Canada | Georgetown, Guyana | Lewistown, United States |
| IP Score | 65% (Needs improvement) | 50% (Needs improvement) | 55% (Needs improvement) | 55% (Needs improvement) |
| Timezone | Europe/Tirane, no mismatch flagged | Asia/Kuala_Lumpur, mismatch (-15%) | Africa/Accra, mismatch (-15%) | America/Los_Angeles, mismatch (-15%) |
| WebRTC Leak | Detected (-20%) | Detected (-20%) | Detected (-20%) | Detected (-20%) |
| DNS Leak | Detected (-5%), DNS in Germany | Detected (-5%), DNS in US | Detected (-5%) | Not flagged |
| Blacklists | 2/10 | 2/10 | 2/10 | 2/10 |
| Connection Type | Residential | Residential | Residential | Residential |
Between Hidemyacc Check Proxy and IPFighter analysis, detected locations shifted across all profiles: Residential moved from Argentina to Spain, Flex from Ukraine to Canada, Mobile from Puerto Rico to Guyana, and Datacenter from Ukraine to the United States. Under Rotate IPs, this behavior occurs whenever a new exit node is assigned. The location shown during Check Proxy only represents that single request. If session stability is required, test Keep one IP instead.
Regarding IP Score, Residential achieved 65%—the highest of the four—though all four received a "Needs improvement" rating from IPFighter. A higher score does not mean the IP is free of security flags; review it alongside blacklists, WebRTC behavior, and timezone alignment.
All four IPs appeared on two spam blacklists: zen.spamhaus.org and cbl.abuseat.org. Because these databases focus on email spam filtering, they rarely hinder web scraping or Google queries. However, they remain relevant for email delivery workflows.
WebRTC leak flags appeared across all four tiers, while Flex, Mobile, and Datacenter each triggered timezone mismatch warnings. These findings highlight that proxy configurations require careful alignment with browser profiles. Due to continuous IP rotation during testing, we could not determine whether WebRTC flags exposed the underlying local IP.
Residential scored highest on IPFighter but still exhibited leaks and blacklist flags. Treat composite IP scores as contextual indicators rather than absolute measures of quality. On the Mobile test, IPFighter showed a minor internal discrepancy, stating "Found 3 issues to fix" at the top while listing 4 items in the breakdown table.
Below is IPFighter's platform compatibility breakdown across tiers:
| Platform | Residential | Residential Flex | Mobile | Datacenter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok | 67% | 55% | 58% | 58% |
| 72% | 59% | 63% | 63% | |
| 60% | 48% | 51% | 51% | |
| 64% | 53% | 56% | 56% | |
| Amazon | 57% | 39% | 46% | 46% |
Residential led across all five platforms, while Flex registered the lowest scores. Mobile and Datacenter returned identical compatibility ratings despite routing through separate IPs.
On paper, Residential appeared most favorable on IPFighter. However, this profile still exhibited WebRTC leaks, DNS leaks, and blacklist entries during the same run. High compatibility scores do not eliminate the need to verify other telemetry signals.
The identical scores for Mobile and Datacenter demonstrate that automated compatibility metrics should not be used in isolation to distinguish proxy quality. Live browsing tests on Google and e-commerce platforms yielded noticeably different results.
Scamalytics Test Results:
| Metric | Residential | Residential Flex | Mobile | Datacenter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fraud Score | 1/100 (Low Risk) | 0/100 (Low Risk) | 2/100 (Low Risk) | 0/100 (Low Risk) |
| IP Operator / ASN | Comunitel Global (Vodafone Espana), ASN 12430 | TELUS Communications Inc, ASN 852 | U Mobile (Cellular) Inc, ASN 52433 | Cook Technical Institute |
| Connection Type | Wireless | No data | Wireless | No data |
| Location | Zamora, Spain | Edmonton, Canada | Georgetown, Guyana | Chicago (Archer Heights), United States |
| Anonymizing VPN | No | No | No | Yes |
| Identified as Residential Proxy | Yes | No | Yes | Yes (also flagged Datacenter: Yes) |
| Scamalytics History | 3 days, Score 39 | None | 38 days, Score 83 | 6 days, Score 99 |
Scamalytics reported low Fraud Scores across all four IPs (ranging from 0 to 2/100), in contrast to IPFighter's 50%–65% scores. However, low Fraud Scores do not mean an IP is unrecognizable as a proxy: Scamalytics still classified Residential, Mobile, and Datacenter as proxy networks in its database.
On the Residential IP, fields for VPN, Tor, Server, Public Proxy, Web Proxy, and Search Engine Robot displayed "No," while Residential Proxy showed "Yes." These reflect separate detection categories in Scamalytics; a "No" under generic proxy categories does not mean the IP is undetected as a residential proxy.
Discrepancies between lookup tools also surfaced in geolocation and blacklist records. For the same Datacenter IP, IPFighter reported Lewistown while Scamalytics reported Chicago. Similarly, IPFighter flagged all four IPs on zen.spamhaus.org, whereas Scamalytics returned "No" for Spamhaus, showing how database criteria vary between tools.
Additionally, Residential and Datacenter labels are derived from ASN lookups and may not always reflect physical connection types. For example, IPFighter categorized both Datacenter and Mobile IPs as Residential connections. Evaluate proxies across multiple telemetry metrics rather than relying on a single label.
Because Rotate IPs was active, these findings apply to the specific IPs tested rather than the entire Databay pool.
6.2 Speed and Latency Testing
Speed was measured using speed.cloudflare.com after waiting for the Network Quality Score to complete. Residential encountered "Verification failed" prompts three times before passing on the fourth attempt. Datacenter and Mobile initially failed to load the test page and required a refresh. Residential stalled mid-run during one attempt, so only completed test runs were recorded.
| Metric | Residential | Residential Flex | Mobile | Datacenter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Download | 4.63 Mbps | 14.9 Mbps | 3.67 Mbps | 37.2 Mbps |
| Upload | 7.83 Mbps | 6.75 Mbps | 676 kbps | 2.19 Mbps |
| Latency | 457 ms | 665 ms | 591 ms | 368 ms |
| Jitter | 137 ms | 258 ms | 205 ms | 46.7 ms |
| Network Quality Score | 1/5 stars across streaming, gaming, and video calls | 1/5 stars across all categories | 1/5 stars across all categories | Streaming 3/5, Gaming 2/5, Video Calls 2/5 |
| Cloudflare Server | Madrid | Sao Paulo | Guatemala City | Dulles |
Datacenter delivered the highest download throughput at 37.2 Mbps, the lowest latency at 368 ms, and the lowest jitter at 46.7 ms. It was also the only tier to achieve 2 stars or higher across Cloudflare's Network Quality metrics (Streaming 3/5, Gaming 2/5, Video Calls 2/5).
For data-intensive scraping workflows, Datacenter demonstrated a clear speed advantage during testing. However, throughput alone does not tell the full story, as this tier encountered access issues on Google and Etsy in subsequent tests.
Flex ranked second in download speed at 14.9 Mbps, but registered the highest latency (665 ms) and jitter (258 ms) in the benchmark. While its download speed remained usable, connection responsiveness fluctuated significantly. For tasks requiring rapid round-trip interactions, raw download speeds alone do not fully reflect the user experience.
Mobile posted the lowest speeds, with 3.67 Mbps download and 676 kbps upload, alongside 1/5 stars across all Network Quality metrics. For workflows involving large file transfers or continuous sequential requests, Mobile took noticeably longer to complete tasks.
Residential logged 4.63 Mbps download and 7.83 Mbps upload—the highest upload rate in the group. However, its 457 ms latency and 137 ms jitter kept its Network Quality Score at 1/5 stars across all categories.
In summary, no single tier led across all performance criteria: Datacenter led in download and latency, Residential had the highest upload, Flex showed moderate downloads alongside high latency, and Mobile was the slowest overall.
During the Mobile speed test, Cloudflare identified the network as SUPERWIFI DE GUATEMALA S.A (AS269840). This is recorded as reported by Cloudflare, as we did not run separate tools to verify this connection type.
Testing was conducted from Vietnam, with IPs rotating between runs and Cloudflare servers adapting to each detected location. These figures represent the specific test sessions rather than the entire proxy pool, with latency ranging between 368 ms and 665 ms throughout the benchmark.
6.3 Google Search CAPTCHA Trigger Rates
To evaluate real-world CAPTCHA trigger rates, we executed two standard commercial queries on Google Search: "best wireless headphones 2026" and "iphone 17 pro review".
| Search Query | Residential | Residential Flex | Mobile | Datacenter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| best wireless headphones 2026 | No CAPTCHA triggered | CAPTCHA triggered, solved in 1 attempt | No CAPTCHA triggered | CAPTCHA triggered 3 times; verification succeeded but access remained blocked, ultimately returning 403 Forbidden |
| iphone 17 pro review | CAPTCHA triggered, solved in 1 attempt | No CAPTCHA triggered | No CAPTCHA triggered | 403 Forbidden error immediately, no CAPTCHA displayed |
These results show that access to Google Search depends on proxy tier classification rather than raw speed. Mobile showed the greatest stability across both queries, triggering zero CAPTCHAs. Conversely, Datacenter—despite being the fastest tier—failed on both searches with access blocks. Residential and Flex fell in between, encountering occasional CAPTCHAs but proceeding after solving them.
These findings reflect the specific test queries and IPs assigned during Rotate IPs mode rather than the entire pool. For instance, Residential encountered an additional CAPTCHA during an auxiliary search for "Scamalytics," indicating that Google's response varies by query and active IP.
6.4 E-Commerce Accessibility and Page Load Times
Next, all four tiers were tested by directly accessing Amazon, TikTok, and Etsy via the browser address bar.
| Platform | Residential | Residential Flex | Mobile | Datacenter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon.com | 15 seconds, loaded without blocks | 11 seconds, no blocks, no CAPTCHA | 23 seconds, no blocks, no CAPTCHA | 15 seconds, no blocks, no CAPTCHA |
| TikTok.com | 52 seconds, accessible, page loaded | 21 seconds, accessible, video playback working | 52 seconds, accessible, video playback working | 26 seconds, accessible, video playback working |
| Etsy.com | Blocked on 1st attempt; loaded successfully after refresh in 16 seconds | Blocked on 1st attempt; loaded successfully after refresh in 15 seconds | Blocked; remained blocked across 3 subsequent refreshes | Displayed "Verification Required"; completed challenge but remained blocked across refreshes |
Platform accessibility varied noticeably across targets. Amazon and TikTok loaded across all four proxy tiers, whereas Etsy enforced stricter access controls. This demonstrates that website accessibility does not directly correlate with benchmarked bandwidth. Datacenter recorded the fastest Cloudflare download speeds but failed on Etsy, while Flex loaded TikTok faster despite lower synthetic benchmark scores.
Etsy presented the most restrictive environment in our benchmark. All four tiers met initial resistance, with Mobile and Datacenter remaining blocked across repeat attempts. Verify proxy performance directly on your specific target platform rather than relying on synthetic scores or general categorization.
We also observed differences between IPs reported on Etsy and those recorded earlier on IPFighter. During certain runs, Etsy and TikTok detected a Vietnam location despite proxies routing through other countries. Because addresses rotated during testing, we note this observation without asserting a definitive cause. Factors such as browser language, cookies, or system timezones may play a role, but would require isolated testing to confirm.
7. Databay Strengths and Limitations
Synthesizing product specifications and hands-on test data, Databay shows practical strengths in setup convenience, pay-as-you-go pricing, and platform access, alongside distinct performance trade-offs across its tiers.
7.1 Strengths
Key advantages observed during evaluation include:
- All four tiers are managed through a single dashboard with flexible settings for rotation, geo-targeting, protocols, and authentication methods.
- Transparent per-gigabyte pricing without recurring commitments, with entry packages starting from $12.50 to $17.75 and Flex priced at $0.55/GB.
- All four tiers successfully accessed Amazon and TikTok, with functional video playback on TikTok.
- Mobile triggered zero CAPTCHAs across both Google Search queries.
- Scamalytics reported low Fraud Scores (0 to 2/100) across tested IPs, even though three were still classified as proxy connections.
These points highlight that Databay provides a structured configuration workflow with varied performance characteristics across its product lines, with no single tier leading across every metric.
7.2 Limitations
Alongside its strengths, our testing identified several operational limitations:
- No free trial is offered, and entry packages require an upfront commitment of $12.50 to $17.75 depending on the tier.
- IPFighter detected WebRTC leaks across all four tested IPs, 2/10 blacklist entries, and timezone mismatches on three tiers.
- Latency remained elevated, spanning 368 ms to 665 ms, with Mobile recording the slowest throughput.
- Google returned 403 Forbidden errors on Datacenter across both test queries.
- Etsy restricted access across all tiers; Mobile and Datacenter remained blocked even after retries.
- Rotate IPs caused addresses and geolocations to change across testing steps, while Keep one IP and specific city filters were not evaluated.
- Documentation across Databay pages shows minor inconsistencies, such as Residential pool size counts, Datacenter's static versus rotating classification, and Mobile minimum traffic thresholds.
These trade-offs show that Databay's performance depends heavily on the chosen tier and specific IP assigned. Before committing to high bandwidth volumes, test on your target platform to verify throughput, location stability, and accessibility.
8. Conclusion
Within the scope of our testing, Databay's four proxy tiers produced distinct results across different workloads.
Residential achieved the highest IP Score on IPFighter and led platform compatibility rankings. However, it still exhibited WebRTC leaks, DNS leaks, and blacklist entries during testing, demonstrating that composite scores from a single tool should not be relied upon exclusively to evaluate anonymity.
Residential and Flex both accessed Amazon and TikTok, and reached Etsy after a page refresh. Flex delivered the fastest load times on Amazon and TikTok, but logged the highest latency and jitter on Cloudflare tests.
Mobile was the slowest tier in our speed benchmark, but triggered zero CAPTCHAs on Google Search across both test queries—a notable finding for search-focused workflows. However, it failed to load Etsy across three consecutive refreshes.
Datacenter led in download throughput and recorded the lowest latency and jitter, but performed poorly in practical access tests, returning 403 Forbidden errors on Google Search and failing on Etsy even after completing verification challenges.
These findings show that no single Databay tier leads across all use cases. Faster throughput does not guarantee access across restricted platforms, and higher automated compatibility scores do not eliminate underlying configuration flags.
A key variable in our benchmark was the use of Rotate IPs across all tiers. Because addresses cycled between steps, geolocations fluctuated, making individual results difficult to replicate identically. Our tests did not evaluate Keep one IP or specific city filters, and each step was executed once.
If you are considering Databay, align your operational requirements with the findings above. If your workflow requires persistent sessions, evaluate the Keep one IP setting. For tasks focused on Google, Etsy, or specific platforms, test on those destinations directly. Given the lack of a free trial, starting with an entry-level package allows you to evaluate accessibility, speed, and connection stability before committing to larger bandwidth plans.
9. FAQ
1. What use cases is Databay best suited for?
Databay cites applications such as web scraping, ad verification, SEO tracking, market research, review monitoring, e-commerce, and social media management. Databay notes that proxies only route traffic and do not guarantee access to target websites. Based on our benchmark, test an entry package on your specific target platform before scaling up.
2. Does Databay offer a free trial?
No. Entry-level packages are priced at $12.50 for Datacenter (10 GB), $13.75 for Residential (5 GB) and Flex (25 GB), and $17.75 for Mobile (5 GB). Databay accepts refund requests within 7 days for technical network faults, typically requiring that usage remain under 100 MB.
3. Should I choose Residential, Flex, Mobile, or Datacenter?
The choice depends on your specific workload. Residential supports granular location targeting, sticky sessions up to 120 minutes, and achieved the highest IP Score in our benchmark. Flex provides a lower per-gigabyte rate with country- or continent-level targeting and up to 30 minutes sticky time. Mobile bypassed Google CAPTCHAs cleanly but had the lowest throughput and was blocked by Etsy. Datacenter offered the fastest throughput but was blocked on Google Search and Etsy.
4. Why did the IP location change between test steps?
This is driven by the Rotate IPs setting, which assigns new exit nodes across requests. As a result, locations can shift between Check Proxy, IPFighter scans, and target websites. Additionally, different tools query separate geolocation databases (e.g., IPFighter reported Lewistown while Scamalytics reported Chicago for the same Datacenter IP). If you need a consistent address, use the Keep one IP setting.
5. Can I use Databay proxies with the Hidemyacc antidetect browser?
Yes. Databay supports HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols with username and password authentication, allowing direct configuration in Hidemyacc. All four profiles passed Check Proxy validation during testing. However, because IPFighter flagged timezone mismatches and WebRTC leaks, check your profile's Timezone and WebRTC settings after adding proxies to ensure proper alignment.
